Hello diggers!

Today I would like to introduce you to a Brazilian record, straight from Recife, Pernambuco: ‘’Sabor’’ by Grupo Alcano.

This record is a delicious mix of Brazilian northeast meets legendary producer Tuka Maia, and was released on Copacabana Records.

Commanded by Edinho Queiroz, the Alcano group was successful throughout the Northeast of Brazil and conquered fans across the country, especially in the state of São Paulo in the 80s.

I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t know about the band until I was introduced to this record via KollektivX.

When it comes to Brazilian music, however, my personal search is always ongoing, and the past never fails to surprise me with incredible releases. Just like this one, I loved the discovery!

When we come across songs we like, it makes us want to share them, to make others experience that same joy we did.

So that’s what I wanted to do today, to share some good music with all of you.

A couple of my personal favourite tracks of Grupo Alcano to get you started are ‘Viajar’, ‘Paraiso Perdido’ and ‘Swing Morena’, and, of course, the album where it all began:

Thanks for reading and happy listening!
